Thanks to its extraordinary dome head design together with a specially developed silicone mixture, the Rocker Metal Dome Keypad HA-MD-R can be directly actuated at a rotation angle of up to 5°. It offers excellent tactile feedback, even without a decoupling system. This makes them exceptionally well-suited for rocker switches such as gear selectors and tiptronic levers.

How is the Rocker Metal Dome Keypad HA-MD-R manufactured?

The Rocker Metal Dome Keypad HA-MD-TR is manufactured using a compression molding process.  It uses heat and pressure to give a product its final form.  In a pre-heated cavity, a vertical press mechanism is used to shape and apply wide-meshed cross-linking to the silicone in its plastic state. After the vulcanization process, the metal domes are adhered.

Compression molding consumes less material than injection molding, since no sprue channels, sprues, or gates are required for shaping the product. As a result, it is perfect for superior, aesthetic, and functionally refined surfaces.
