What characterizes the Double-detent Keypad STC-SINA?
The innovative SINA design enables two individually adjustable levels of haptics with just a single dome.
Why have we developed the Double-detent Keypad STC-SINA?
The dynamic and emotional aspects of an automobile have always been fascinating. Whereas factors such as reliability, performance, quality, and price were the most important purchasing criteria in the past, the design, brand, and image are nowadays a competitive advantage and help to differentiate. Whether responsive, family friendly, or elegant, a consistent product design down to the smallest detail is crucial.
Sateco sets the standard when it comes to creating controls and switches and offers expert guidance for executing your complex projects.
We develop your acoustic, haptic, and visual signature using our extensive product portfolio, in-depth knowledge, and years of expertise.
Applications in the automotive sector
The Double-detent Keypad STC-SINA is perfectly suitable for switches that require two haptic switch levels, such as powered window regulators (manual/automatic), tempomat/cruise control (+1 km/ +10 km), turn signals (3x blinking/continuous blinking), windshield wipers (1x wipe/continuous wiping).
What are the benefits of the Double-detent Keypad STC-SINA?
The Double-detent Keypad STC-SINA features impressive, custom-configurable 2-stage haptics with vertical actuation.
How is the Double-detent Keypad STC-SINA manufactured?
The Double-detent Keypad STC-SINA is manufactured using a compression molding process. It uses heat and pressure to give a product its final form. In a pre-heated cavity, a vertical press mechanism is used to shape and apply wide-meshed cross-linking to the silicone in its plastic state. If contact pills are needed for designing the silicone keypad, they are placed in the proper locations on the tool using a vacuum pill template before the molding compound is filled.
Compression molding consumes less material than injection molding, since no sprue channels, sprues, or gates are required for shaping the product. As a result, it is perfect for superior, aesthetic, and functionally refined surfaces.
Summary
Silicone keypads—particularly the different designs such as the Rocker Metal Dome Keypad HA-MD-R, Enhanced Metal Dome Keypad STC-MD-TR, and Low-noise Metal Dome Keypad STC-MD-LN, Metal Dome Keypad STC-MD, Double-detent Keypad STC-SINA, Long-stroke Keypad STC-LS, and Short-stroke Keypad STC-SST—play a key role in highly specialized applications. The precise haptics and the sophisticated acoustics make them indispensable components for system and component manufacturers with high innovation and quality standards in the automotive, building automation, industry & freight transport, and consumer goods sectors.
